How to participate in LOVE OXFORD:
1. Start praying

The heart of the LOVE OXFORD vision is to impact the city through a demonstration of unity. More than anything else, we need prayer support to make this happen.
This year, for Love Oxford 2010, we are calling everyone to a week of prayer for Love Oxford and its vision to bring the churches of this city together. Every hour of day and night, in the Oxford Prayer Room (12 Littlegate Street), we’ll be praying for Love Oxford the week before the event, from 6pm Sunday 16 May through to 6pm Saturday 22 May. With creative prayer stations, informative displays, worship and led prayer times throughout the week, there will be plenty of inspiration to pray.
So pray with us that Love Oxford have more of an impact than ever before! For the location of the prayer room, please click here. For more information about events during the prayer week, please visit the website for the Oxford Prayer Room.
Prayer points for Love Oxford 2010:
¾ For leaders carrying the vision – that they can bring the church together in unity
¾ For those planning and working to make the event happen
¾ For the event to be well received by the city
¾ For good weather (even though we have a tent!)
Please pray for leaders in the city carrying the vision, for those planning and working to make the next event happen, for financial provision, for the right impact across the city and especially, for a sunny day! If you'd like to be informed of specific prayer points, and of prayer meetings leading up to the event, please let us know you'd like your email address added to our supporter list.
2. Join in
We would love you to join us on Sunday 23rd May, from 11am in South Park. Anyone and everyone welcome to come along to the event on the day - just turn up. Bring a picnic and stay for the afternoon. Don't miss it, put the date in your diary now!
Are you a Church Leader? Get your whole congregation involved:
The criteria for a Church joining this growing number of churches committed to LOVE OXFORD are: a love for God and his Word, a love for this historic city of Oxford, her inhabitants and her destiny, and a love for all other Christians.
Participating churches will encourage their members to attend the open air event, and will normally cancel their own Sunday services that morning. We will be producing flyers to help church leaders in communicating the vision and details of the event to their congregation, and these will be available shortly.
If you would like your church to join the group of churches participating in Love Oxford, please get in touch via email.
See participating Churches for details and links to those churches involved.
3. Give your support
As you can imagine, putting on a event of this size costs a fair amount of money.
We are entirely dependant upon donations from Churches and individuals to make LOVE OXFORD happen. We always take up a collection on the day of the event, but if you would like to give towards supporting LOVE OXFORD donations are very welcome at any time and help us make the best use of our budget. Cheques should be made payable to Love Oxford and sent to: Love Oxford, c/o Joanna Braithwaite, 40 Pembroke Street, OX1 1BP.
